While Twisters was a fun movie, I was beyond disappointed that not an OUNCE of this incredible soundtrack or theme made even so much as a cameo. Some of the best film score put to tape
One of the main reason why I love this score so much is how diverse it is. It goes from a guitar like if it's a 90s collage movie. To a Horn that sounds like something from action movie To a Choir that sounds like Spirits or Ghost. To Cellos that obviously sounds like a horror movie TO A VIOLIN THAT SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING FROM STAR WARS!!! And Mark Mancina just took all that and just made it work. Not only that but he made the score tell the story to the point where you can see what's happening with only the music.
Beautifully said! -Powerful, exhilarating, haunting, emotional. The same exact for me. There's absolutely nothing like it! -I'm a horn player so it really hits that special spot for me too!
I mean I can see what's happening as the music plays because I'm autistic and I've seen twister hundreds if not thousands of times (and I'm only 18 I havent had as much time as most)
@@thomervin7450 How? Because it does not look over the top? The only tornado that really looks dated to me is the F-3 on the hill. Now I will say the “clouds” around the tornado’s look ugly.

I listen to this soundtrack in my car at least once a month and just run the gamut of emotions. It is my second favorite movie of all time and this score is a huge part of that. It evokes emotion & really sets the stage well. It audibly addresses the majesty & overwhelming/unyielding force of nature that a tornado is. I could go on forever about this movie
William Davis The only good actors (to my knowledge) were Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt. Other than that, just nothing more than a simple movie about tornadoes.
Actually, there was nothing simple about this movie! From the technical challenge of filming the moving vehicles and flying debris, much of which was in fact real, the animation of the twisters themselves which had not ever been done before, and the amount of dangerous stunt work that the actors themselves had to go through, this was an astoundingly complex movie to make. I'm actually impressed that it got made so well.

For 1997 the cgi for the tornadoes was absolutely incredible. This movie is a legend & what I grew up with. I became a storm chaser for the NWS partly because of this movie. It only accelerated my passion for the storms. For me twister's "Humans Being" by Van Halen is my music for storm chasing. I blast that one on my way to a major storm. Storms fear the sound of a SKYWARN storm chaser. Of course I must pay respects to legendary Bill Paxton "The Extreme" & Seymour Hoffman "Dusty."
1996, but yes. Digital Domain did great job with Twister and Dante's peak as well, both these movies had incredible cgi. More realistic than in nowadays movies, tbh, if talking about tornadoes. The ones in Day after tomorrow and Into the storm...those looked more like computer game ones, and you'd think in nowadays cgi would've grown to be more realistic.
@@AJ1987LV Into the storm really did look like computer game stuff in comparison. The only other movie that has realistic tornadoes is the movie Supercell that came out I believe in 2021.
